Amazon Prime Now Offers Fuel Savings in the US

Amazon Prime Fuel savings

Amazon is adding a new Prime perk in the US that may be interesting for people who drive a lot: The company has teamed up with bp, Amoco, and ampm to let Prime subscribers save $0.10 per gallon at around 7,000 stations in the US.

“We’re always asking ourselves how Prime can save members more money, and fuel savings is our latest offer that puts money back into members’ wallets,” the company said today. “Based on average U.S. driver statistics when purchasing at qualifying locations*, this means nearly $70 of savings per year—that’s nearly half the cost of an annual Prime membership.”

To take advantage of this new perk, Prime members in the US will first need to activate it on amazon.com/fuelsavings and create a free earnify account with bp. The earnify app can help users to find the nearest participating stations and redeem the discount at the pump they’re using. Otherwise, the fuel savings will be automatically applied when Prime members with a linked earnify account input their phone number or linked payment method at a participating gas station.

Amazon is already planning to extend this new Prime perk to owner of electric vehicles. Next year, the company will launch an electric vehicle charging savings offer with bp pulse, and more details will be shared closer to launch.
