Apple Arcade Goes Live for Some Users Ahead of Official Launch

At its iPhone event last week, Apple announced the launch date for Apple Arcade, it’s new game subscription service. At the event, Apple announced the pricing for Apple Arcade and showcased some games coming to Arcade.

And although Apple Arcade was supposed to officially launch on September 19, the service has gone live for beta testers of iOS 13. If you are running the iOS 13.0 or iOS 13.1 betas, you will be able to access Apple Arcade, sign-up for a new subscription, and start playing Apple Arcade games on your iPhone or iPad right now.

The $4.99 a month subscription gives you access to 53 titles, to begin with, though Apple will add more titles going forward. Apple actually said no other game service has launched with as many games at once last week, which is a big claim. The company also said Apple Arcade will include more than 100 games, but so far it only seems to include 53 — that might obviously change before the official launch on Thursday, though.
