Apple Releases iOS 17.1.1 and macOS 14.1.1

Apple iPhone iPad Mac

Apple released yesterday iOS 17.1.1 and macOS Sonoma 14.1.1, which follows the release of iOS 17.1 and macOS 14.1 on October 25. For Apple Watch users, watchOS 10.1.1 is also available to download.

iOS 17.1.1 addresses issues causing Apple Pay and other NFC features to become unavailable on iPhone 15 models after using wireless charging in certain cars. Apple also fixed an issue causing the Weather Lock Screen widget to not correctly display snow in some circumstances. This fix is also available on iPadOS 17.1.1, which was also released yesterday.

For Mac users, macOS Sonoma 14.1.1 is a minor update. Apple just mentions “important bug fixes and security updates” in the release notes. As for watchOS 10.1.1, it also fixes some bugs as well as an issue that could cause the battery to drain more quickly for some Apple Watch users. Last month, watchOS 10.1 was a more significant update that introduced a new double-tap gesture on the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2.

Last week, Apple also held a special event to announce the new M3-based MacBook Pros and 24-inch iMac. These new Mac models started shipping yesterday, and the new $1,599 14-inch M3 MacBook Pro has also replaced the previous M2 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar as the new base model.
