AppleCare+ Plans Are Now More Expensive for New Macs and iPads

Apple has quietly raised the price of its monthly AppleCare+ insurance plans for Macs and iPads, though only for new sign-ups. As spotted by Bloomberg, the plans are now up to 50 cents per month more expensive, which represents a $5 difference for the annual plans.

An AppleCare+ plan covers the repair or replacement of a covered Apple device in the event of accidental damage. While current subscribers won’t be impacted by the price increases, covering a new Mac mini will now cost $4.49 month or $44.99 a year, with prices going up to $5.99/month for a MacBook Neo, $7.99/month for a 14-inch MacBook Air, and $10.99/month for a 14-inch MacBook Pro.

For new iPad owners, AppleCare+ plans now range from $5.99/month ($59.99/year) for the base iPad and iPad mini to $11.99/month ($119.99/year) for the 13-inch iPad Pro. However, Apple isn’t raising the price of its $19.99/month AppleCare One subscription, which lets subscribers cover up to three Apple products and add additional devices for $5.99/month.

These AppleCare+ price increases come right after Apple raised the price of almost all of its products except the iPhone and the Apple Watch due to the memory and storage crisis. It wouldn’t be surprising if the prices of the upcoming iPhone 18 series and Apple Watch Series 12 aren’t also affected by the component shortages.
