I’m not sure why, but there is some confusion around the $899 version of the Surface Pro 4, which ships with an Intel Core m3 processor. Yes, it is fanless. The other versions of the Surface Pro 4, which have Core i5 and Core i7 processors, are not fanless, but they are much quieter than Surface Pro 3.

Mozilla is (mostly) killing NPAPI plugins in Firefox
Mozilla announced today that it is phasing out the NPAPI plug-in system from Firefox by the end of 2016. “Features such as clipboard access which used to require plugins are now available via native Web APIs,” the company explained. “Mozilla intends to remove support for most NPAPI plugins in Firefox by the end of 2016.” The exception? Yep. Flash.

Logmein is buying LastPass
And as Daniel Rubino noted on Twitter, no one seems to be happy about it. But honestly I like it: Logmein and LastPass are two companies I trust, and I use products from each.

Microsoft will no longer make Lumia cases
And speaking of Daniel Rubino and Twitter, we also learned this morning that Microsoft will no longer be making cases/shells for its Lumia phones, meaning that third parties will be expected to make the market for add-ons happen. We did see some of these third-party cases for the 950/950 XL at this week’s devices announcement, and they look great. But I think we can all agree that there was something special about the first-party cases. Assuming you could ever find them, of course.
Not convinced? Check out Mozo’s offerings. Oh my.
