PlayStation’s Marvel’s Spider-Man Series is Coming to PC

The critically-acclaimed Marvel’s Spiderman video games series will make the jump from PlayStation to PC this year. During its State of Play live stream yesterday, Sony revealed that Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will be released on PC on August 12, 2022, with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales to follow later in Fall 2022.

Developer Insomniac Games has worked with Nixxes Software, a PC port developer Sony acquired to bring the two PlayStation exclusive games to PC.
“We’re grateful to our PlayStation Studios partner studio Nixxes Software for fully optimizing Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PC,” said Ryan Schneider, Head of Franchise Strategy & Studio Relations, Insomniac Games.

The PC version of Marvel’s Spiderman will support mouse and keyboard controls, as well as standard PC features such as adjustable render settings and ray-traced reflections. More details about the PC port will be shared closer to the game’s release.

Sony recently announced that it aims to ship nearly 50% of its games on PC and mobile by 2025, and there’s no doubt that the Marvel’s Spiderman series will continue to sell incredibly well on PC. In addition to the two Spiderman games, Sony will also release the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PC later this year.

It really is a fantastic game. Might pick it up on PC when it gets cheap sometime. You just know it’s going to get some cool modding done to it by the community at some point.

I have a last gen gaming PC and a SeriesX, and I would still enjoy the convenience of just walking into my TV room, and pressing the X button to launch directly into Spiderman. With my PC I have to fiddle with PC outputs, TV inputs, and complex soundbar/ARC issues that arise with it.

Xbox just works.

Ummm you have to hook each up to a TV exactly once. Not sure how the PC would be any different? My Windows gaming PC boots up super fast. I have Logitech 4K cam on top of my monitor and Windows hello logs me in automatically.

I know I’m in a minority with this thought. But I’m quite upset that Microsoft gave up on the Kinect. I now use it for my PC.
