Microsoft Announces New Xbox Game Pass Games for January

Microsoft has now revealed the second wave of games coming to the Game Pass library in January. The first one is Hi-Fi Rush, a new Xbox exclusive game from Japanese studio Tango Gameworks that Microsoft shadow-dropped during its Developer_Direct showcase yesterday.

Hi-Fi Rush is an action game where the world syncs to the music, and it’s now available on Game Pass for Console, PC, and Cloud. Be aware that the game isn’t available on last-gen Xbox One consoles, and you can expect the flow of cross-gen games to continue to dry out throughout the year.

The remaster of Goldeneye 007 will also be available tomorrow on Game Pass for Console and Cloud. The cult-classic shooter from the Nintendo 64 era has been updated with 4K graphics and a smoother framerate, and the game will also be offered for free to gamers who already own the Rare Replay collection on Xbox.

The Xbox version of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will also land on Xbox Game Pass next week on January 31. This is the first Age of Empire game to ship on Xbox consoles, and the RTS game will also be available on Xbox Cloud Gaming. Age of Empires IV, the latest installment in the franchise will also be released on Xbox later this year.

Five other games will be released on Game Pass between January 30 and February 7. The list includes Inkulinati, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle R, Darkest Dungeon, and Hot Wheels Unleashed – Game of the Year Edition. You can find a recap of the latest Game Pass additions below:

If you didn’t watch Microsoft’s Developer_Direct showcase yesterday, the company announced the release dates for some of its upcoming first-party games. Minecraft Legends will be released on April 18 and will be available on Game Pass on day one, and so will Arkane’s Redfall on May 2. The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom will also be launching in June, while the much-anticipated Forza Motorsport game still has a vague “2023” release date.
