Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update XIII: Oceania and Antarctica Launches Today

The free World Update XIII for Microsoft Flight Simulator is now available on PC and Xbox today, and it focuses on Oceania and Antarctica. This update adds more detailed imagery for Polynesia, Melanesia, the Galapagos Islands, as well as key regions of Antarctica.
“The update provides a total of 13 countries and 28 non-sovereign territories, many with improved resolution that will allow pilots to experience stunning new vistas throughout these regions,” the Microsoft Flight Simulator team said today. There’s a total of 150 new points of interest including to discover, as well as an updated height field for Hawaii and over a dozen handcrafted airports.

This update also adds a total of 11 missions to accomplish throughout the region: 3 bush trips, 5 discovery flights, and 3 new landing challenges.

As usual, the World Update XIII: Oceania and Antarctica update for Microsoft Flight Simulator can be downloaded for free from the in-game marketplace. The previous World Update XII released back in February focused on New Zealand.
If you have yet to try Microsoft Flight Simulator, the game is free to play with Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. It is quite demanding on PC, but the Xbox version that’s available via Xbox Cloud Gaming does look fantastic, too.
