Microsoft Announces Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct on June 11

It’s official, Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase will be live-streamed on Sunday, June 11 at 10 AM PT. It will be immediately followed by Starfield Direct, a separate live stream focusing on Bethesda’s much-anticipated sci-fi RPG to be released on September 6.
“This is the day gamers have been waiting for to see what is coming to Xbox, PC, and Game Pass. Starfield Direct will invite you inside Bethesda Game Studios to learn much, much more about Starfield, with tons of new gameplay, developer interviews, and behind-the-scenes insider information,” the Xbox team said today.

Today’s announcement comes just a day after the release of Redfall, the first Xbox-exclusive game from Bethesda released since Microsoft officially acquired the company. The AAA game received pretty bad reviews, and Microsoft really needed to communicate to cheer up Xbox fans.
For its Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft promises “some new surprises and first-looks from our incredibly talented internal studios, and our many creative partners around the world.” We’ll likely get a release date for Forza Motorsport and the Xbox version of Age of Empires IV, but there are many other first-party games we haven’t heard about in a while, such as Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, State of Decay 3, and the Fable and Perfect Dark reboots.
The Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct will be streamed on the Xbox channels on Twitch and YouTube, and Microsoft will also in-person FanFest events around the world on June 11. On June 13, the Xbox team will also follow up with an Xbox Games Showcase Extended with in-depth interviews from developers and game updates from partner studios.
