Amazon Luna Launches in France, Italy and Spain

Amazon Luna

Amazon’s Luna cloud gaming service is available in three new European countries, France, Italy, and Spain. The service first launched in the US last year before expanding to the UK, Germany, and Canada in March.

Amazon’s cloud gaming service is quite similar to Google’s late Stadia platform, and Amazon went as far as building its own Luna controller that connects directly to the cloud gaming service to reduce latency. You can also easily broadcast your Luna gameplay on Twitch.

Amazon Luna is available on any device via the web, but there are also apps for Fire TV and select LG and Samsung Smart TVs. If you don’t have Amazon’s Luna controller, you can use an Xbox or PlayStation controller via Bluetooth or USB, and it’s even possible to use your smartphone or tablet as a controller. On a PC or Mac, you can play Luna games with a mouse and keyboard.

If you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber, you can access a rotating selection of games on Luna for free. You can also link your Ubisoft account to play supported games from your Ubisoft Connect library on Luna, for free.

Amazon also offers different channels on Luna providing access to dozens of games. At €9.99/month, the Luna+ channel includes a couple of blockbuster games such as Resident Evil 2 Remake, Control Ultimate Edition, or Devil May Cry 5, and there’s also the €4.99/month Jackbox games channels with more family-friendly titles. If you subscribe to Ubisoft+ Multi Access (€17.99/month), you can also access all supported games and their DLCs on Amazon Luna.

In France, Italy, and Spain, Amazon is also launching a new Games portal on Fire TV devices. “Games on Fire TV brings together the best games and game content for Fire TV, all in one place,” the company said yesterday.
