Samsung to Reveal Galaxy S25 Edge on May 12

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Reveal

Samsung announced today that it’s planning to officially reveal its new Galaxy S25 Edge phone on May 13 during an event starting at 9AM KST (that’s 8 PM ET on May 12). The company had previously teased the new phone at its Galaxy Unpacked event in January, which is where the Galaxy S25 series was initially revealed.

“The latest addition to the Galaxy S series is both a powerful AI companion and an engineering marvel, merging flagship-level performance with superior portability, the company said today. “This is more than a slim smartphone. Every curve, contour and component reflects a breakthrough in precise engineering to create a premium experience worthy of the S series name.”

Despite its “Edge” moniker, the Galaxy S25 Edge won’t have a curved display like previous Galaxy Edge phones. Most details about the phone’s specs have already leaked: According to SamMobile, you can expect a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chip used on the other Galaxy S25 models, 12GB RAM, and either 256GB/512GB storage.

The phone is also said to be just 5.85mm thin, which will likely impact battery life. “Even with its slim form, the Galaxy S25 Edge’s 200MP wide lens continues Galaxy’s iconic camera experience, delivering pro-grade capabilities to intuitively capture the world around you,” Samsung said today.

With this upcoming thin version of its flagship Galaxy S25, Samsung hopes to “unlock a new era of growth for the mobile industry.” Later this year, Apple is reportedly planning something similar with its iPhone 17 series, which may include a thin “Air” model for the first time.
