Meta has teamed up with Microsoft to release the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition, a limited edition version of the entry-level mixed reality headset. It’s launching today as a $399.99 bundle in the US and the UK, but it will be available in “very limited quantities.”
The bundle includes a 128GB Meta Quest 3S in Xbox Carbon Black and Velocity Green, matching Touch Plus controllers, and a pre-paired limited-edition Xbox Wireless Controller. Customers will also get three months of Meta Horizon+ and three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for free.
Meta launched its Quest 3S headset back in September with a $299.99 price tag. The headset features the same mixed reality capabilities and fast performance as the Meta Quest 3, but it has a lower-resolution display.
“With its sleek design and vibrant accents, the headset embodies the spirit of Xbox while delivering the great gaming experience players love on Quest,” the Xbox team said today. The limited-edition Xbox Wireless Controller included in the bundle also features a Carbon Black chassis and Velocity Green highlights that match the design of the headset.
Microsoft has already made its Xbox app available on Meta Quest headsets, allowing customers to stream cloud-enabled Game Pass games plus select games they own with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The mixed reality headsets also provide access to native mixed reality games, fitness and entertainment apps, as well as social apps such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
The Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition is available to purchase at meta.com and Best Buy in the US. Customers in the UK can also purchase it at Argos and EE while supplies last.
