Microsoft Opens Registrations for its Build 2025 Conference on May 19-22

Microsoft Build 2025 registrations

Microsoft has just opened registrations for its annual Build developer conference, which will be held in Seattle on May 19-22. As usual, the online experience will be free, but developers who want to attend the event in person can save $400 on tickets ($1,125) through April 9, 2025.

Build 2025 will start on Monday, May 19 with the usual introducing keynote from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. While the Build session catalog isn’t live yet, you can expect Copilot and AI to be the main topics this year. In a blog post, Microsoft promises to share details about “the latest language and platform updates” and to help attendees “learn about generative AI, AI ethics, and sustainability to discover how to make AI work for you, and for our planet.”

This was unexpected, but Google’s own I/O developer conference will overlap with Microsoft Build this year. Google I/O 2025 will kick off on May 20, and you can already register for the event as well. Just like Microsoft, Google has been all in on AI for a while, and it probably won’t be easy to keep up with all the announcements the two companies have planned for the fourth week of May.

Recent Build conferences have been pretty light on Windows news, but last year’s event was preceded by the reveal of the first Copilot+ PCs. Microsoft is still testing new Windows 11 AI features like Recall and Click to do with Insiders using these devices, and the company may want to accelerate on that front. With Windows 10 about to reach end of support in October 2025, the company may be tempted to show more new AI features to push consumers and enterprise customers to upgrade to Copilot+ PCs.
