Apple released yesterday iOS 16.0.2, a bug-fixing release addressing issues affecting iPhone 14 models and other devices running iOS 16. This update fixes the issue that was causing the iPhone 14 Pro camera to vibrate and make strange noises when using third-party apps like Instagram or Snapchat.
iOS 16.0.2 also includes a fix for the copy and paste bug causing permission prompts to appear much more often than expected. Here are the other important bug fixes in this release:
- Display may appear completely black during device setup
- VoiceOver may be unavailable after rebooting
- Addresses an issue where touch input was unresponsive on some iPhone X, iPhone XR and iPhone 11 displays after being serviced
iOS 16.0.2 is available on the iPhone 8 and newer. You can download the update by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
Apple is already started beta testing iOS 16.1, which will bring more customization options for the Lock Screen and Home Screen, as well as a new Clean Energy Charging feature that will optimize charging times for when the grid is using cleaner energy sources. iOS 16.1 is expected to be released next month alongside iPadOS 16.1
