Microsoft’s Surface team teased a new Surface-branded Copilot+ PC that it will announce next Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
“Something new is coming,” the Surface team tweeted under an image with the Copilot+ PC and Microsoft Surface logos and the date, 5.6.25. “Find out next week.”
This feels early for a second-generation Snapdragon X-based PC–I’ve heard that won’t happen until September from a few sources–so we can only speculate. I’m not sure if this is relevant, but a recent post to the Surface IT Pro Blog points out that next week is National Small Business Week, while explaining why Surface for Business Copilot+ PCs are perfect for businesses of all sizes.
For context, Microsoft has been selling Snapdragon X Elite and Plus-based Surface Laptop (in 13.8- and 15-inch versions) and Surface Pro 11 (13-inch) models since they were announced in May 2024. And it has sold business versions of those PCs to businesses since September 2024, with Pro getting NFC and 5G options. (The less said about the Intel versions of these products, the better.)
See you Tuesday. 🙂
