First they said December, then it was January but now another subsidiary of Microsoft is saying that Windows 10 mobile will be released to existing devices later this month on February 29th. Even though this is Microsoft channel, seeing as the announcement isn’t coming out of the Redmond office, take it with a small pinch of salt.
I had been hearing for a few weeks that the end of February would finally be the time that the company pushes its new mobile operating system to existing Windows phone 8 devices. Seeing as the Windows phone community is small, I suspect that a significant portion of the current fan base is already running Windows 10 mobile for higher-end devices but the low-end, entry level phones, are likely the ones going to be upgraded when the OS is finally released.
Hello, the update to Windows 10 will be available as from 29 February, but remember that not all devices will be able to do so. Greetings!
With the potential release date a little over a week away, we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to see if this date finally holds true for Windows 10 mobile release for older devices. Of course, we still need more clarity about what devices will get the update on this day and how the OS will be delivered as there are many variables in play including Microsoft who could stage the release for different devices on different days.
