Grand Theft Auto Trilogy is Coming to Netflix’s Games Library on December 14

Netflix announced today that it’s bringing Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition to its mobile games library on December 14. The remastered trilogy will join the catalog of over 80 mobile games that Netflix subscribers can play at no additional cost today.

“Starting today, fans can pre-register to play Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, featuring the genre-defining titles of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, each updated for mobile,” the company announced today.

While Rockstar Games released GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas on iOS and Android many years ago, Netflix is getting its hands on the same remastered trilogy that was released on consoles and PC back in November 2021. These three remastered games actually received mixed reviews due to changes in the artistic direction and other issues.

The timing for this announcement is quite interesting as Rockstar Games is planning to reveal the first trailer for the much-anticipated GTA VI in December. Grand Theft Auto is one of the best-selling game franchises of all time, and all gamers will probably be talking about GTA very soon.

According to data from app analytics company Apptopia, less than 1% of Netflix’s subscribers had downloaded Netflix games last year. With the remastered GTA trilogy coming soon to Netflix, we may well need to start paying attention to the company’s growing mobile games library.
