Apple announced today that it will make its Apple TV+ streaming free to access this weekend, January 4-5. All Apple TV+ content will be available for the first weekend of 2025 without a subscription.
Apple TV+ is the home of Apple Original movies and TV shows including Severance, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, and Foundation. While the service doesn’t have as much content as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or Disney+, it does feature some of Hollywood’s top talent. Back in September, Apple pointed out that its original content earned 511 wins and 2,308 award nominations to date.
This weekend, see for yourself.

Apple TV+ is currently available in over 100 countries and regions on many devices: That includes a native app on Apple devices, the new Apple TV app for Windows, a web app, plus apps for smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony, VIZIO, TCL and other manufacturers, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Google TV devices, plus PlayStation and Xbox gaming consoles. However, there’s still no Apple TV app for Android users.
At $9.99/month, Apple TV+ is no longer one of the most affordable streaming services on the market (it launched at $4.99/month in September 2019), but you can save some money by opting for the $99/year annual plan. The service is also included with an Apple One subscription starting at $19.95/month, and students with the Apple Music Student Plan can also access the service for free.
