Tips and picks

Tip of the week: EA games on sale

Now is the time to save BIG on EA games for Xbox One and Xbox 360

App pick of the week: Microsoft Photos Companion app for Android/iOS

A new Microsoft app lets you beam photos wirelessly from your phone to your PC

Plus: Age of Empires Definitive Edition for Windows 10

Enterprise pick of the week: Visual Studio Code is now part of the Anaconda Python distribution

Microsoft is pushing for not just VS, but VS Code, too, to become a key tool for big-data/AI developers and data scientists.

Codename pick of the week: ProjFS

You’ve heard about WinFS, but what about ProjFS? Our buddy The Walking Cat says Windows Projected File System (ProjFS) may be the same as GVFS (Git Virtual File System) and may somehow figure in the next Win 10 release. (GVFS stands for Git Virtual File System. GVFS virtualizes the file system beneath your git repo so that git and all tools see what appears to be a normal repo, but GVFS only downloads objects as they are needed. ) Sooo… what will this be for (and who will it be for?)

Beer pick of the week:  Revolution Brewing Café Deth

A big, super tasty coffee imperial stout from Revolution Brewing in Chicago. And it comes in cans!
