Tip of the week: Check out these incredible hidden gems from Microsoft’s past

Stephen Chapman has brought his historical knowledge of Microsoft to! Here’s my welcome note.

App pick of the week: Google Chrome

In my tour of modern web browsers, I’ve landed on an unlikely candidate. But there are advantages to sticking with Chrome, especially if you take the time to block some of its unsavory tracking behavior.

Enterprise pick of the week: Hyper-V Server 2022

The weirdest Server launch ever continues! Will there be a standalone Hyper-V Server 2022? The official answer is in. And it’s a no from Microsoft.

Enterprise pick 2 of the week: CosmosDB has a Jupyter meltdown

The security hits keep coming for Microsoft and its customers this summer. The latest, ChaosDB,  affects CosmosDB users.

Beer Cocktail pick of the week: Pina Colada done right

It’s still summer!

Rum and a premade mix works in a pinch, but it only takes a couple more minutes to make it with your own ingredients. And there’s no comparison when it comes to flavor.

  • 1 cup white rum, like Bacardi
  • 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 can (6.6 oz) cream of coconut, like Goya (not unsweetened coconut cream)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 3 cups ice

Put everything in a blender and mix until well blended. Most blenders will work but you’ll get the best results with a high-end blender like Vitamix.

Pour into glasses, top with a splash of dark rum and garnish with a maraschino cherry. Serve with a straw.

Serves 4.
