Tips and picks
Tip of the week: Go back in time with Google Maps
This is really cool: If you can see a street view of a location, you can see what it looked like in the past too.
App pick of the week: Alternative browsers, again
Vivaldi’s new deal with Renault has me thinking about this alternative browser again.
And Brave has a new Privacy Hub on iOS. Ditto.
Enterprise pick of the week: Microsoft’s eval center is broken. Here’s a workaround
If you need to evaluate Win 10, 11, ConfigMan or a number of other Microsoft technologies, you may have noticed the Eval Center has been broken for nearly a week. I haven’t heard what happened or an ETA for it being fixed. But in the interim, there are some workaround downloads available via the TechCommunity site.
Codename picks of the week: Delridge and Quinault
You may have heard about Microsoft’s CBL-Mariner Linux distro. But did you know they’ve got another called CBL-Delridge? And Delridge has connections to another Washington-state-related codename, Quinault… The Penguin plot thickens!
Beer pick of the week: Talea Haba Haba Splash
A fruited sour from Talea Brewing is today’s pick. Haba Haba Splash is “slightly salty and slightly spicy. Brewed with habañero, tamarind, mango, and pink sea salt.” Not too spicy mango flavor. 4.2%. And Talea now has a new fun outdoor pop-up drinking spot attached to Grand Central for your train beer and tourist needs!
