Tips and picks

Tip of the week: Set up Windows 11 22H2 with a local account

Microsoft is requiring individuals to set up Windows 11 version 22H2 Home and Pro with a Microsoft account. Here’s how to set it up with a local (offline) account instead.

Speaking of which, here are the other changes Microsoft made to Setup in 22H2

App pick of the week: Brave

Well, I’ve finally done it. Brave.com.

Enterprise pick of the week: Get ready for Microsoft Inspire in July

The session list is up. Maybe we’ll hear more about the promised Windows 365-Windows integration as part of this??

Codename pick of the week: Monad

All hail the Father of PowerShell and his manifesto (from 2002!)

Beer pick of the week: Off Color Brewing Beer for Beaches

Off Color Brewing in Chicago has a whole series of beers that are meant to simplify the process of pairing beers with foods (and even experiences). Beer for Beaches, a farmhouse style beer made to kind of emulate the Sex on the Beach cocktail has some cranberry, peach and lemon juices in it. It’s meant to enjoyed on the beach with immature jokes. Perfect for the Fourth of July!
