Tips and picks

Atlanta recap

A quick thank you to everyone who came out to our live show and meet-up!

Tip of the week: Get Cortana Insights … with Sticky Notes?

I don’t actually do this personally, but here’s a fun tip for the Surface Pen crowd.

Plus: Games with Gold baby!

AdDuplex mobile app pick of the week: OneDrive UWP adds offline support

A nice step towards placeholders, but in the mobile app. (As we discussed last week, placeholders are coming back eventually)

Enterprise pick of the week: Dynamics 365 for Financials

On October 11, MS will officially “launch” Dynamics 365. There will be a streamed keynote from its User Group Conference in Florida. The first piece of the coming ERP/CRM cloud bundle (Dynamics 365 for Financials) should be out in Q4.

And another ‘mark your calendar’ date: Nov. 16 is MS Connect () developer event, streaming live from NYC

Investment tip of the week (sort of 🙂 Have a startup that you’re trying to get MS to invest in?

There’s now a web site listing MS’ growing portfolio of startup investments. The sweet spot is cloud, AI, security, productivity (not too surprisingly).

Beer pick of the week: Schooner Exact 3Grid IPA

When in Seattle, drink IPAs. This one, from the excellent Schooner Exact folks, is actually not over-the-top hoppy. At least to this hop lover. But still totally worth drinking.
