Microsoft Opens Registrations for its Ignite Conference on October 12-14

Microsoft has opened registrations for its Ignite conference for IT pros on October 12-14. This year, Microsoft enthusiasts will be able to attend the event digitally and in-person, though there will be limited passes available for the in-person experience in Seattle.

The Microsoft Ignite digital event will be free for everyone, but the in-person event at the Seattle Convention Center will cost approximately $1,895 depending on the pass option you choose (hotel costs are not included). In accordance with local laws, Microsoft won’t require proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 tests for attendees. However, the company noted that “this is subject to change” depending on the evolution of the pandemic.

In addition to the paid in-person Ignite experience in Seattle, Microsoft will also be holding free Ignite Spotlights events in China, Japan, Latin Amera, France, Germany, and the UK. The company plans to share more details about these Ignite Spotlight events soon.

The session agenda for Ignite 2022 isn’t live yet, but Microsoft has already shared a list of featured speakers: It currently includes Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, EVP of Microsoft Cloud + AI Group Scott Guthrie, CVP of Industry, Apps, and Data Marketing Alysa Taylor, and CVP of Security, Compliance, and Identity Vasu Jakkal.

This fall seems to mark a progressive return to in-person events for many tech companies. Apple’s iPhone event on Wednesday was the company’s first in-person product launch since the beginning of the pandemic. Google is also planning an in-person showcase in Brooklyn for its upcoming “Made by Google” event on October 6.
