Windows Insider Dev Channel Gets Build 25236 and a Microsoft Store Update

Microsoft has just released the Windows 11 preview build 25236 for Insiders on the Dev Channel. This update brings new tips on how to use Windows Search on the taskbar, and there’s also a Microsoft Store update with UX improvements that’s now rolling out to all Dev Channel testers.

After installing today’s build 25236, select Insiders in the US will start seeing new pop-ups showing Windows Search tips above the taskbar. In the example below, there’s a simple message informing users about the Win + S shortcut to access Windows Search.

The Windows Insider team says that it’s experimenting with different ways to provide tips to “improve the value of Search shortcuts and reduce friction in the broader Windows Search experience.” As usual, feel free to provide your feedback to the team if you do see these tips.

Today’s build 25236 also brings various bug fixes for the Taskbar, System Tray, and File Explorer. The company has also fixed an issue causing natural voices such as Microsoft David or Mark to not speak in Narrator.

A new Microsoft Store update has also started rolling out to all Dev Channel testers today. The update makes it easier to discover free Office, Game Pass subscriptions, or other digital offers that can be redeemed from the Store on your device. Additionally, users on low-end devices should now enjoy a smoother experience when scrolling through search card results.

That’s it for today’s updates for Dev Channel Insiders. If you’re interested, the Windows Insider has also kicked off a new series of videos highlighting what’s new in the Windows 11 2022 Update, and today’s new episode focuses on new security features such as Smart App Control, Enhanced Phishing Protection and Memory Integrity.
