Microsoft Releases Its Last Windows 11 Insider Build of 2022

Microsoft has just released the Windows 11 build 25267 for Insiders on the Dev channel, which will be the last Insider flight for 2022. With this build, Microsoft continues to test different treatments for Windows Search on the taskbar, and Insiders can also expect various bug fixes.

Starting with the Windows 11 Insider build 25252, Microsoft has been experimenting with different versions of the search button on the Windows 11 taskbar. Some Insiders may now see an actual search bar that lets you type text in it, just like the search bar on the Windows 10 taskbar.

“Insiders in the Dev Channel will begin seeing an updated treatment with more rounded corners starting with this build. If you see the new treatment, you can right-click on the taskbar to open taskbar settings and adjust the experience,” the Windows Insider team explained today.

There are no other new notable changes in today’s build 25267, but some specific bug fixes are still worth mentioning: Microsoft fixed an issue causing the Bluetooth section of Quick Settings to crash for some people, and the company also fixed a “high hitting” File Explorer crash in the last two builds.

Microsoft will be back with new builds in January. Yesterday, the company also released the December Patch Tuesday updates for Windows 11 and Windows 10 and warned that there will be no optional preview updates later this month due to the holiday break.
