The Windows 11 Insider build 23555 is now available for testers on the Dev Channel. While there are no new features in this build, there are some bug fixes for Copilot and Task Manager that should be worth your attention.
The Windows Insider team said that it has fixed an issue that was causing File Explorer to crash when trying to open Copilot from the taskbar. The modernized File Explorer developed with Microsoft’s WinUI 3 library still lacks some polish, but the public rollout will start later this fall.

This build also fixes an issue that was causing Task Manager to crash when changing Always on Top mode. If you use the Narrator accessibility feature, Microsoft also addressed a bug that was preventing users from previewing natural voices in Settings.
If you’re not seeing the new Copilot icon after installing this build, this is a new known issue in this build that Microsoft plans to fix in a future flight. And that wraps it up for the main changes in today’s build 23555.
If you missed it yesterday, select Insiders on the Canary and Dev Channels can now start testing a new Cocreator feature in Paint that leverages OpenAI’s DALL-E technology. You currently need to join a waitlist in the app to get a chance to join the preview, however.
