Microsoft has just released the Windows 11 Insider build 23565 for testers on the Dev Channel. This build introduces a new icon for Windows Copilot in the taskbar. Copilot is one of the big features in the Windows 11 Fall Update, but it’s still in preview and not available in Europe yet.
You can see the new Copilot icon in the image below. Microsoft also said that it’s working on a fix for an issue causing Copilot to disappear from the taskbar of some Insiders running the Home edition of Windows 11 Insider builds.

In today’s build 23565, Microsoft is also testing making Windows Spotlight the default background option. Just like on the Windows 11 lock screen, Windows Spotlight offers a rotating selection of wallpapers that are usually pretty nice. However, the Windows Insider team said that this experiment will only affect select Insiders who are using one of the inbox default desktop backgrounds.
The Windows 11 Insider build 23565 also brings more fixes for the modernized File Explorer. A bug causing the app to hang for OneDrive users has been fixed, and the Gallery view will now show a loading state instead of an empty view when lots of images are loading.
If you want to clean install this build, ISOs are available to download from Microsoft’s website. Microsoft is also offering two special desktop backgrounds in light and dark to celebrate the 9-year anniversary of the Windows Insider Program this month.
