Windows 11 Insider Build 22635.2483 is Now Available on the Beta Channel

Windows 11 PC

Microsoft has just announced the release of the Windows 11 Insider build 22635.2483 for Beta Channel testers. This is the second Beta Channel build to be released since Microsoft announced that it would stop splitting Insiders on this channel into two groups, one getting new features turned on by default and the other one having new features disabled by default.

Now, all Insiders on the Beta Channel receive the same build, but the availability of new features will depend in part on the toggle to “get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” in Windows Update. New features under this control will roll out gradually to Insiders, but in some cases, Microsoft will also make new features available to all Insiders on the Beta Channel.

“Going forward, we will document changes in Beta Channel builds in two buckets: new features, improvements, and fixes that are being gradually rolled out for Insiders who have turned on the toggle to get the latest updates as they are available and then new features, improvements, and fixes available to everyone in the Beta Channel,” the Windows Insider team explained. Yes, we also wish things were a bit simpler… but this is how it is.

In today’s build 22635.2483, there are just two changes that are listed as gradually rolling out to all Beta Channel Insiders: The first one is that Microsoft is disabling the new 3D emoji previously introduced in the build 22631.2265 to fix some bugs, but the new emoji will come back in a future flight.

The second change that’s now rolling out will only affect Insiders in Europe. In that region, Windows 11 features will now check for consent to share data between Windows and other signed-in Microsoft services. If you refuse to give consent, some features like file recommendations in the Recommended section of the Start Menu won’t be available.

Again, if you want to test these changes first, you’ll need to turn on the toggle to get the latest updates as they are available via Settings > Windows Update. “Should you keep this toggle off, new features will gradually be rolled out to your device over time once they are ready,” the Windows Insider team explained.
