Microsoft Releases New Windows 11 23H2 Build on the Beta Channel

Windows 11
It seemed like this week would go by without a new Windows Insider flight, but Microsoft has just released the 23H2 build 22635.4005 on the Beta Channel. However, this is a minor update with “a small set of general improvements and fixes” coming to Beta testers who have turned on the Windows Update toggle to get the latest updates as soon as they’re available.

All Insiders on the Beta Channel are also getting a fix for an issue that was causing some File Explorer crashes on recent builds. As with most changes coming to the Beta Channel these days, this fix will be rolling out gradually to all testers.

There’s isn’t much else to say about today’s build 22635.4005, except that Microsoft is investigating a new issue causing File Explorer to crash when closing apps from the taskbar. For Beta testers who already got access to the new File Explorer Home with Recent, Favorites, and Shared tabs, Microsoft is also working to fix an issue causing keyboard focus to be lost on selection of an unselected tab item.

If you missed it last week, Microsoft started testing a new Link to Windows feature that lets Insiders on all channels see their Android phone in File Explorer and browse its content. That’s still probably the biggest new feature you can test as an Insider right now.
