New Windows 11 Canary Build is Out With Minor Changes

Windows 11 PC

The Windows 11 preview build 27813 is out today on the Canary Channel with a couple of bug fixes and an API removal change. With this new build, Microsoft is removing the Location History feature, which the now-deprecated Cortana assistant used to access 24 hours of device history when the location was enabled on PCs.

“With the removal of the Location History feature, location data will no longer be saved locally, and the corresponding settings are also being removed from Settings > Privacy & security > Location page,” the Windows Insider team explained today.

The Windows 11 Canary build 27813 also fixes an issue in the Settings app where the System > Display > Color Management page may not display the expected color profile list for the selected monitor. The Windows Insider team said that it’s also working on a fix for a d3d9.dll crash causing multiple apps to fail to launch for some Insiders.

If you missed it earlier this week, the Windows 11 preview build 26120.3380 was also released on the Dev and Beta Channels. The new bits brought Recommended files in File Explorer Home to all testers, recommended snap groups in the Start menu, and a shortcut to open the emoji panel in the system tray area of the taskbar.
