Windows Timeline Comes to Android Devices

Microsoft is bringing Windows 10’s Timeline feature into your phone with a massive new update to its Android launcher. The company is testing a new Windows Timeline integration for Microsoft Launcher with the 5.0 update starting today, and the company previewed the upcoming updates at its New York event today.

Windows Timeline coming to Microsoft Launcher means you will be able to access your activities from Timeline on your Android phone. The websites you visit on Microsoft Edge on your PC will show up on your phone, for example, and you can pick up where you left off. The same applies to Word documents, Outlook emails, and more. Put simply: as long as it’s in the cloud and it’s a Microsoft service, you can keep track of those activities from your PC on your phone.

Windows Timeline integration is in preview for now, available to beta testers, but it will be rolled out to more users of Microsoft Launcher soon. No word on whether Microsoft plans on building something similar for iOS users, though.

This might be enough to get me to switch back to the Microsoft Launcher, especially because you can use an add-on for Firefox to make sure that activity shows up in the Timeline just like if you were using Edge.

I'm definitely interested in testing this out, I can see this to be a really good feature for keeping tracking of my work and activities between the PC and the phone.
