Latest Fast Ring Build Arrives with No New Features

Microsoft delivers Windows 10 Insider Preview build 19587, providing more evidence that Windows 10 20H2 will be another minor release.

As is usually the case, this build arrives with no new features. But there are two semi-notable changes:

Volume management. When you mute the volume, Windows 10 will no longer unmute the volume when using the hardware keyboard volume keys until you raise the volume (or manually unmute). This change was apparently based on feedback.

Minor Narrator improvements. Microsoft has changed a few of the onscreen text prompts related to Narrator to make them friendlier and provide more useful information.

Additionally, Microsoft fixed some minor bugs in this build related to the Microsoft Defender tray icon, the Default Apps page in Settings, File Explorer, and Task Manager.

Even less interesting, this build will not be provided to those few souls using Windows 10 on ARM because of a “bugcheck” issue. And there are numerous other bugs from previous builds that carry-over unfixed.

Not much to see here, in other words.
