12 Days of Deals, Day 9: Buy Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, Get $100 Gift Code

On the ninth day of Christmas my true love gave to me nine ladies dancing … in virtual reality.

It’s Day 9 of Microsoft’s 12 Days of Deals, and this one could appeal to VR fans: If you buy an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive from the Microsoft Store today, you will receive a free $100 Microsoft Store gift code.

Of course, that means you’re spending a minimum of $599—the cost of Oculus Rift (or $799 for HTC Vive), and it assumes you have a PC capable of using these hardware peripherals.

Interested? Here’s what you need to know, and links for purchasing either VR solution.

Oculus Rift VR Headset – $599.00

  • Immerse yourself in games and movies
  • Travel through time and space
  • Hang out with friends in virtual reality
  • Powered by Windows 10

HTC VIVE Virtual Reality System – $799.00

  • Virtual reality beyond imagination
  • Room-scale VR with precise motion tracking
  • Adjustable headset for comfortable, clear gameplay
  • Windows 10. Do great things.

Happy VR holidays!

<p>This is why Hololens won’t make a difference. Promoting the competition won’t help and Hololens is already too late.</p>

<p>I know the standard consumer might not care, but Hololens is an Augmented Reality headset whereas Oculus Rift and HTC Vive are Virtual Reality headsets.</p>

<p>1st of all Paul, it time you got a Rift. I hear you talk about the Daydream and compare it to your other experiences with VR. But honestly, the experience you had with the Rift previously is nowhere near the actual consumer version that was released especially with the Touch controllers. Yes, the resolution of these headsets is still the weak spot but I would love to hear your thought on a the Rift with touch controllers. You should have got one on black Friday from Best Buy, they give you until Jan 15th to return everything.</p>
<p>Secondly, I am really looking forward to the Aar stuff that is around the corner.</p>
