Apple has just announced another Fall keynote, titled “Scary Fast”, on October 30 at 5PM PT / 8PM ET. It’s unusual for Apple to hold a keynote that late in October, and Apple’s keynotes also usually kick off at 10 AM PT. Anyway, it will be interesting to see if Apple tweaks its keynote format on this occasion.
As noted by The Verge, Apple uses an animated Apple logo that morphs into a Finder icon on the event’s page, making it quite obvious that new Macs should be part of this event. The “Scary fast” title also suggests that these new Macs may come with a chip we haven’t seen before, with the M3 being the best candidate.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently reported that a new 24-inch iMac is coming soon, as this model hasn’t been updated since its M1 refresh in April 2021. Moreover, the 13.3-inch, 14-inch, and 16-inch MacBook Pro are also in short supply, which could mean that new versions are coming soon.
Apple’s M2 chip first made its debut in the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro and the redesigned 13.6-inch MacBook Air in July 2022. If Apple sticks to its formula, the company’s M3 chip may ship first in a new version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro (the one that still has a Touchbar) and/or the 13-inch Macbook Air. Anyway, we’ll soon find out what the company has in the pipeline.
