Apple has really struggled to keep its product pipeline under wraps in recent years, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and other reporters consistently leaking information about the company’s plans. Yesterday, however, it appears that Apple itself failed to double-check what its latest beta releases hide about its upcoming products.
As reported by MacRumors, the sixth macOS 27 developer beta Apple released yesterday includes lots of references to upcoming products, including product codenames that had previously leaked. And one of the most interesting nuggets is a video showing how the new AirPods with a built-in camera will work.
The video below shows a man with AirPods holding a book that the built-in cameras in the AirPods can analyze. “With Visual Intelligence, your world becomes savable. See something you like? Just ask me to save it for later,” the narrator in the video says.
Here is your first look at AirPods with Cameras in action using Visual Intelligence.

MacRumors reported that Apple’s documentation mentioned how to set up Visual Intelligence on the new AirPods, and how users will get an alert when something is blocking the AirPods’ field of view. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently reported that due to the multiple delays that affected the development of the new Siri AI, Apple was now targeting a fall 2027 release for these new AirPods with cameras.
MacRumors found traces of codenames for several unannounced products in the new macOS 27 beta, including the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, the foldable iPhone Ultra, Apple’s upcoming smart display, as well as a new version of the AirPods Pro. There’s also a reference to a new Apple TV remote that could make its debut with a new version of the media player, which hasn’t been updated in years.
Apple’s next hardware event is expected to take place during the first half of September, and it will be the first one under the leadership of new CEO John Ternus, who will officially replace Tim Cook on September 1. This time, the company is expected to only announce new high-end iPhone models with the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone Ultra, with the regular iPhone 18 and entry-level iPhone 18E reportedly not coming until spring 2027.
