Windows 11 Moment 3 is Now Available as an Optional Update

Microsoft has made the new Windows 11 “Moment 3” features available for all users via an optional update today. The rollout of these new features started during Microsoft’s Build developer conference in late May, and all users running Windows 11 version 22H2 should get them next month.

Until now, Microsoft made Moment 3 features available as a “controlled feature rollout.” Windows 11 users could get them by enabling the new toggle in Windows Update to “get the latest updates as soon as they’re available.” Starting today, though Moment 3 features are now enabled by default in the optional KB5027303 update for Windows 11 version 22H2.

This is the same update that was previously rolled out to Windows Insiders on the Release Preview channel last week. The main new “Moment 3” features include new access keys in File Explorer, the ability to display seconds in the system tray clock, a new VPN status icon in the system tray, presence sensor privacy settings, new languages for Live Captions, as well as Alt-tab changes.

Microsoft also released an optional non-security patch for Windows 10 version 22H2 today. The company said that the update “adds many new features and improvements to Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.”
