Microsoft Releases Windows 11 Insider Build 22635.2552 on the Beta Channel

Windows 11 PC hero

Microsoft has just released the Windows 11 Insider build 22635.2552 for testers on the Beta channel. This build includes two changes that will roll out gradually to Insiders who have turned on the toggle to “get the latest updates as they are available” in Windows Update. However, all Beta Channel Insiders who install this build will also receive bug fixes.

The first change that’s gradually rolling out in this build is that System Components currently listed in Settings > Apps > Installed Apps page have now moved to a new page under Settings > System > System Components. The second change rolling out today is affecting the Xbox Game Bar, which is now listed as “Game Bar” in Settings > Gaming.

Today’s Windows 11 Insider build 22635.2552 also fixes various issues with File Explorer, including a bug causing the app to stop responding when interacting with OneDrive files. Microsoft also addressed an issue where touchscreens did not work properly when using more than one display.

Microsoft recently introduced a new servicing model for the Beta channel with a single build instead of two for each release. Now, Beta Channel testers need to enable the Windows Update toggle to get the latest features as they’re available if they want to be among the first to get features gradually rolled out to all testers. If you choose to keep this toggle off, new features will eventually go live on your device when Microsoft thinks they’re ready.

Yesterday, Microsoft also released the Windows 11 Insider build 25982 on the Canary Channel. This build kicks off the rollout of the new Copilot for Windows on that Channel, but the AI assistant is also available in the optional Fall Update for Windows 11 that Microsoft made available for all users running Windows 11 version 22H2 on September 26.
