Windows 11 Insider Beta Channel Gets a Bug Fixing Update

Windows 11 PC

Windows Insiders on the Beta Channel can download their first new build of the year today, but it’s a small one. There are no new features, but the release notes for the build 22635.2921 do mention “a handful of fixes to improve overall reliability.”

The Windows Insider team said that you’ll need to set the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” toggle in Windows Update to receive these fixes. The same goes for a separate fix for the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel (tabtip.exe), which was impacting the ability for some Windows Insiders to input text.

That’s it for the changes coming to the Beta Channel today. Yesterday, Microsoft also released two new builds for the Canary and Dev channels, which add multi-display support and custom commands for Voice Access. These changes rolled out first to the Beta Channel in December with the build 22635.2915. Additionally, Dev Channel testers can try a richer weather card on the lock screen.

In other Windows 11-related news, Microsoft announced this morning that its Copilot assistant will soon have its dedicated keyboard key on upcoming Windows 11 PCs to be revealed during CES 2024. Copilot was one of the biggest Windows 11 additions of last year, and Microsoft is already testing an undocked mode for the AI assistant that also lets users freely resize the app’s window.
