Windows 11 Insider Beta Build 22635.3209 Adds Smartphone Photos Notifications

Microsoft has released today the Windows 11 build 22635.3209 for Beta Channel Insiders. For testers who have turned on the toggle to get the latest updates as soon as they’re available, this new build introduces new notifications prompting users to edit recent photos and screenshots from an Android phone in Snipping Tool.

This is new feature was first introduced on the Dev Channel in January. The experience can be enabled by going to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mobile devices and choosing “Manage devices.” There, you’ll see a new option to get notifications whenever a new photo or screenshot is captured on your Android device.

The Windows Insider team also announced today that it’s rolling out new app updates for Snipping Tool and Notepad on both the Beta and Release Preview channels. Snipping Tool is getting a new shapes toolbar for quickly adding rectangles, ovals, lines, and arrows on images. Notepad, however, is getting a new “Explain with Copilot” action on selected content.

These two updates previously rolled out to Insiders on the Canary and Dev Channels. If you missed these updates earlier this week, Microsoft also released the Windows 11 build 26058 for Canary and Dev testers, as well as the next Windows 11 “Moment” update for Insiders on the Release Preview channel.
