New Windows 11 Dev and Beta Builds Are Available With Minor Changes

Windows 11 PCs

The Windows Insider team is wrapping up the week with two new Windows 11 Insider builds for testers on the Dev and Beta Channels. Following the release of the Dev build 26120.461 last week, Insiders on this channel now need to turn on the “Get the latest update as soon as they’re available” toggle in Windows Update to get early access to new features.

With today’s Windows 11 Dev build 26120.470, testers with the Windows Update toggle on will get the same new Game Pass recommendation card in the Settings app that Microsoft previously introduced on the Beta Channel build 22635.3500 last month. This “ad” for Game Pass will only appear in the Settings app if you’re signed in on your PC with a Microsoft account and if you “actively play games.”

The release notes for today’s Dev build also mention “a small set of general improvements and fixes that improve the overall experience” for Insiders with the Windows Update toggle on. All Insiders on this Channel are also getting various bug fixes, and Microsoft addressed an issue that was causing users to see an install error code 0x8007371B when trying to install last week’s build 26120.461.

Windows Insiders on the Beta Channel, however, are getting the build 22635.3575 today. The main change for testers with the Windows Update toggle on is a new copy button for copying files in the Windows share window.

If you missed it earlier this week, Microsoft also released the build 26212 for the Canary Channel, which includes three Windows Share improvements that Microsoft has been previously testing on the Beta Channel. Lastly, Insiders on the Canary and Dev Channels are getting new updates for Paint and Snipping Tool, with the latter adding a new emoji panel and support for QR code scanning.
