Tiny11 Builder is Updated to Disable Telemetry

NTDEV has delivered an important update to his Tiny11 Builder utility that disables forced Windows 11 telemetry.

“The first update to tiny11 builder is now up!” NTDEV tweeted. “It disables telemetry as well as some of the scheduled tasks associated with it.”

Now, that is interesting.

As you probably know, Tiny11 Builder is the successor in many ways to Tiny11, though it approaches its stripped-down Windows 11 install capabilities differently. Where Tiny11 was a customized ISO image file, Tiny11 Builder is a customizable PowerShell script that others can build on. And while the initial release doesn’t fully address my enshittification needs, a future update just might.

And this first update points the way: While I don’t feel that the forced telemetry in Windows 11 is a major issue, it does quality for the Windows 11 Enshittification Checklist. So it’s a step towards that dream.

According to NTDEV, future updates will suppress more of the advertising in Windows 11, improve language and PC architecture detection, and provide more customization. There may even be a GUI app, which would be obviously be friendlier than a PowerShell script.

You can learn more about Tiny11 Builder on its GitHub project page.
