Nvidia GeForce Now is Now Available on Amazon Fire TV 4K Sticks

GeForce Now Amazon Fire TV App

Nvidia’s GeForce Now cloud gaming service is now available on select Fire TV streaming sticks from Amazon. At the moment, you’ll need either a Fire TV Stick 4K Plus (2nd Gen) or Fire TV Stick 4K Max (1st or 2nd Gen) to try it, even though streaming quality is limited to 1080p at 60 frames per second.

The Fire TV app was announced by Nvidia in early January alongside a native GeForce Now app for Linux. The latter was released on January 29, and it supports Ubuntu 24.04 and later.

For smart TV owners, GeForce Now is also available on Android TVs, as well as LG and Samsung TVs running the company’s webOS and Tizen platforms, respectively. For everyone else, Amazon’s Fire TV sticks are a pretty cheap way to transform a “dumb” TV into a smart TV, even though you should be prepared to see quite a lot of ads on Amazon’s devices.

Nvidia has yet to say if its GeForce Now app will eventually come to cheaper, non-4K Fire TV streaming sticks, as well as Fire TV smart TVs. Anyway, people interested in cloud gaming on the big screen can also check out Amazon’s Luna cloud gaming service and Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming, which are both available on Fire TV devices.
